Simone van der Vlugt en thrillers; de schrijfster en het genre waren lang met elkaar verknoopt. Maar ze heeft zich eruit geschreven. De laatste jaren schrijft ze historische romans voor volwassenen. Op 10 juni verscheen haar nieuwe historische roman ’Kruistocht van een koningin’. ,,Ik ben nu waar ik wil zijn.”
