Als klein meisje was Roos Ykema (30) al heel sociaal en wilde ze voor Artsen zonder Grenzen werken of ontwikkelingswerk doen. Het bracht haar uiteindelijk op de Global Sumud Flotilla, het hulptransport over zee voor Gaza, dat eindigde in een Israëlische gevangenis. Ondanks die ervaring blijft ze hoopvol. „Niks dwaan helpt sawysa net.”
