Begin mei pakte Tim Kop, een 12-jarige scholier uit Leidschendam, op het Holtingerzand bij Havelte een vuistbijl op van 50.000 jaar oud. Op 13 september wordt zijn bijzondere vondst gepresenteerd in het OERmuseum in Diever dat het neanderthalerwerktuig in bruikleen krijgt.
