Als er één schrijver met de Wadden wordt geassocieerd, dan is het wel Mathijs Deen. Hij is razendpopulair met zijn zogenoemde Waddenthrillers over rechercheur Liewe Cupido, maar schreef ook De Wadden: een geschiedenis. Op 24 september houdt hij in Groningen samen met Onno Blom de Ubbo Emmiuslezing onder de titel ‘Wad inspireert je?’.
