De kloof tussen burger en politiek was zondag pijnlijk zichtbaar in Den Haag. Ruim honderdduizend, veelal in het rood gestoken betogers trokken daar de veelbesproken lijn die het kabinet-Schoof weigert in de kwestie-Gaza. Mogelijk was het de grootste demonstratie in twintig jaar, zoals medeorganisator Oxfam stelde.
