De Syrische kunstenaar Sleman Bdewi (39) voelt veel tegelijk: verdriet, blijdschap en hoop. Na tien jaar in Nederland zonder verblijfsvergunning keert hij vrijwillig terug. ,,Op 20 juni neem ik het vliegtuig naar Damascus. De redenen waarom ik ooit vluchtte, zijn er niet meer.’’
