Melle van ’t Wout moest zich terugvechten van een zware rug- en knieblessure. Een tussendoor kneusde de 25-jarige shorttracker uit Sintjohannesga ook nog zijn ribben. Dat hij er dit weekeinde in Montréal voor het eerst sinds 2023 weer bij is, bracht vooral zijn ruim anderhalf jaar jongere broertje Jens aan het huilen.
