Een armeluisgewas dat vroeger op de arme gronden in Noord-en Oost-Nederland lieflijk wuifde in de zomerwind, maar dat hier vrijwel is verdwenen. Iedereen kent boekweit, maar we eten het nauwelijks. Gelukkig is er een herwaardering, met dank aan sobanoedels en lekkere pannenkoekjes.
