Eigenlijk hebben al haar hoofdpersonen wel wat weg van schrijfster Erna Sassen (64). Ook Joshua, die het in haar nieuwste young adultroman ‘Neem een kip’ moeilijk heeft met de wereld en zichzelf. ,,Net als Joshua heb ik de neiging om dingen van een afstandje te bekijken. Maar uiteindelijk word ik daar niet blij van.’’
