Hoewel de ov-chipkaart nog in 2025 moet blijven werken, zijn vervoersmaatschappijen grotendeels overgestapt naar het nieuwe, handigere OVpay met je bankpas. Uit data van ov-kaart-bedrijf Translink blijkt dat verspreid door het land nog 13 miljoen euro aan ongebruikt reistegoed op die oude reiskaarten staat – geld dat jij gewoon kunt terugkrijgen.
