Excelsior heeft vrijdagavond de topper in de Jupiler League bij De Graafschap met 3-1 verloren. Kamohelo Mokotjo bracht de Kralingers diep in de tweede helft met een raak afstandsschot na een 2-0 achterstand terug in de wedstrijd, maar El Hasnaoui bracht de marge namens de thuisploeg vlak voor tijd weer terug tot twee. Excelsior-trainer Alex Pastoor startte met de Feyenoord-huurlingen Sigourney Bandjar, Mokotjo, Jerson Anes Ribeiro, Luis Pedro en Kermit Erasmus in de basis. Tim Vincken, Michal Janota en Miguel Nelom vielen tijdens de tweede helft in.
