Kevin Wattamaleo is vrijdagavond op Woudestein uitgegroeid tot matchwinner. De Feyenoord-huurling maakte in de slotfase van de wedstrijd tegen De Graafschap het winnende doelpunt: 2-1. Sigourney Bandjar had de Kralingers in de eerste helft op voorsprong gezet, waarna Yuri Rose een kwartier voor tijd de stand weer gelijk trok. Excelsior-trainer Alex Pastoor had basisplaatsen ingeruimd voor de Feyenoord-huurlingen Norichio Nieveld, Kamohelo Mokotjo, Mitchell Schet, Kermit Erasmus en Michal Janota. Wattamaleo kwam een half uur voor tijd binnen de lijnen, terwijl even later Erasmus en Janota naar de kant werden gehaald.
