Feyenoord is hofleverancier voor het Nederlands elftal onder 17 jaar, dat van 18 tot en met 23 september deelneemt aan een internationaal toernooi in Duitsland. KNVB-coach Albert Stuivenberg selecteerde liefst zes Feyenoorders, te weten Ryan Bouwmeester, Luc Castaignos, Shabir Isoufi, Osama Rashid, Nigel Velder en Stefan de Vrij. Bovendien staat Stefan Kruithof op de standby-lijst. Nederland neemt het op het vrienschappelijk toernooi op tegen Italië, regerend Europees kampioen Spanje en Duitsland, dat in mei 2009 optreedt als gastheer van het Europees kampioenschap onder 17.
