Perr Schuurs stond ook in de belangstelling van Feyenoord. De 18-jarige verdediger wees de Rotterdamse club al snel af en heeft lang getwijfeld tussen PSV en Ajax. Uiteindelijk koos Schuurs voor een overstap van Fortuna Sittard naar Amsterdam.
Schuurs legt uit waarom hij Feyenoord afwees: "Als je daar niet in het eerste speelt, kun je één keer in de drie weken met de beloften op maandagmiddag spelen. Dat was geen optie," geeft Schuurs aan in Voetbal International. "Bij Ajax en PSV heb je de Jong-teams in de Jupiler League. Niet dat ik ervan uitga dat ik daar ga spelen, maar het is beter het als achtervang te hebben."
