Royston Drenthe start donderdag als stagiair bij de jeugdopleiding van Feyenoord. Drenthe wil trainer worden en zijn eerste stappen zet hij hiervoor bij zijn voormalige ploeg, meldt het AD.
De inmiddels 30-jarige Drenthe woont in Madrid, maar komt wekelijks naar Feyenoord om ervaring op te doen. Daarnaast heeft hij elke woensdag een theoriedag bij de KNVB. Hij start in een versneld leertraject dat speciaal is ontwikkeld voor oude profvoetballers die graag trainer willen worden.
