Feyenoord is het eredivisie seizoen 2017-2018 begonnen met een 2-1 overwinning op FC Twente. De regerend landskampioen was de bovenliggende partij, maar draaide duidelijk nog niet op volle toeren. Na een 1-1 ruststand (goal Nicolai Jørgensen) tekende Steven Berghuis na een uur spelen voor de winnende treffer.
