Na Oranje onder de 17 heeft ook het Nederlands elftal voor spelers onder de 19 jaar zich geplaatst voor het Europees kampioenschap. Het team, waar Jari Schuurman als invaller aan speeltijd kwam, speelde 0-0 tegen Polen. De remise bleek voldoende om als groepswinnaar naar de eindronde in Duitsland te gaan. Justin Bijlow, de huidige derde doelman van het eerste elftal van Feyenoord, zat de gehele wedstrijd op de bank.
