De Engelse krant The Telegraph heeft De Kuip geplaatst in een zelfgemaakte lijst met twintig mooiste stadions van Europa. Ondanks dat het stadion zeker niet tot de meest moderne ter wereld hoort, is de Kuip volgens het Engelse dagblad 'één van de meest lawaaierige stadions die er momenteel is.
De Kuip staat op een zeventiende plek. ''Not the swankiest stadium in Rotterdam but certainly the noisiest and rowdiest when it gets going - especially when Ajax are in town. The claustrophobic design - the stadium's name translates as 'The Tub' - keeps the noise in superbly.'', zo schrijft de krant.
