Feyenoord besloot vrijdag het trainingskamp in de Algarve met een oefenwedstrijd tegen Sporting Charleroi. Na drie keer 45 minuten voetbal op het Amendoeira Golf Resort was de eindstand 3-3, een uitslag waar Giovanni van Bronckhorst niet al te veel waarde aan hechtte. De hoofdtrainer, die Dirk Kuyt (2) en Bilal Basaçikoglu zag scoren, gaf 22 spelers speeltijd tegen de Belgen. Ook Rick van der Meer kwam in actie. Voor de jeugdspeler waren het zijn eerste minuten in Feyenoord 1.
