Tonny Vilhena is in de race voor een prestigieuze prijs voor jonge voetballers. De Italiaanse sportkrant Tuttosport heeft de Maassluizer opgenomen in de shortlist voor de titel van Golden Boy, een prijs voor het grootste Europese voetbaltalent onder 21 jaar.
De 20-jarige middenvelder kan bij zijn club Feyenoord meestal niet op een basisplek rekenen, al lijkt het er wel op dat Vilhena zondag bij de eerste elf namen op het wedstrijdformulier staat voor de wedstrijd tegen Ajax. Bij Jong Oranje, het nationale elftal voor spelers tot 21 jaar, is de Maassluizer wel een vaste waarde.
