Na twee remises hoopt Feyenoord aanstaande zondag de eerste thuisoverwinning op AZ sinds het seizoen 2012-2013 te boeken. Op een steenkoude zondag in februari was de ploeg van trainer Ronald Koeman destijds met 3-1 te sterk voor de Alkmaarders. Jean-Paul Boëtius nam die middag de openingstreffer voor zijn rekening, terwijl het duel uiteindelijk werd beslist door goals van Jordy Clasie en Tonny Vilhena.
