Bondscoach Louis van Gaal heeft de opstelling van Oranje al verklapt. Op de laatste persconferentie in aanloop naar het groepsduel tegen Spanje vertelde hij tegenover de aanwezige media dat Jonathan de Guzman op het middenveld zal gaan starten. Géén Jordy Clasie dus, maar wel Daryl Janmaat, Stefan de Vrij en Bruno Martins Indi bij de eerste elf.
Opstelling Nederland: Cillessen; Janmaat, Vlaar, De Vrij, Martins Indi, Blind; De Guzman, Sneijder, De Jong; Robben en Van Persie.
