Bondscoach Louis van Gaal wilde op de vooravond van de oefeninterland tegen Frankrijk zijn opstelling nog niet prijs geven. Eén naam wilde de oefenmeester echter wel verklappen. 'Ik heb het Jean-Paul al gezegd, dus kan het jullie ook wel vertellen. Boëtius speelt tegen Frankrijk', aldus Van Gaal tegenover De Telegraaf.
Opstelling: Cillessen; Van der Wiel, Vlaar, Martins Indi, Blind; Clasie, Strootman, Sneijder; Robben, Huntelaar (of Van Persie), Boëtius.
