Feyenoord was lang in onderhandeling met Steaua Boekarest om tot een oefenwedstrijd in het Spaanse Marbella te komen, maar beide partijen kwamen niet tot een akkoord. Hoofdtrainer Ronald Koeman gaat het nu met zijn selectie tegen Fortuna Düsseldorf opnemen.
Dat melden de mannen van FRFC1908.nl althans op hun weblog. Op 11 januari zou de wedstrijd gepland staan. De paar honderd Feyenoord-supporters die hun club wéér achterna zullen reizen, gaan het duel echter niet op het knusse Marbella Football Center aanschouwen. De oefenpot schijnt verplaatst te worden naar een stadion in de buurt uit veiligheidsoverwegingen.
