Feyenoord keert tenminste voor een dag terug in de top drie van eredivisie. De ploeg van trainer Ronald Koeman opende vrijdagavond de 29ste speelronde met een 1-0 overwinning op VVV-Venlo en kan het komende weekend rustig afwachten wat de concurrentie gaat doen. De zege op VVV kwam niet zonder slag of stoot tot stand. Feyenoord had het met name in de eerste helft lastig in De Kuip, maar wist na rust de drie punten veilig te stellen door een fraai doelpunt van clubtopscorer Graziano Pellè.
