Oranje onder 17 heeft woensdagavond haar Europese titel in Slovenië geprolongeerd. Tonny Trindade De Vilhena benutte de vijfde en beslissende strafschop in de penaltyreeks tegen Duitsland. Na 80 minuten wisten beide elftallen één keer te scoren. De Duitsers kwamen vroeg in de tweede helft op voorsprong, maar twee minuten voor tijd wist Oranje op de valreep de gelijkmaker te maken, waarna er direct een penalty shootout plaatsvond.
