Volgens het Duitse blad Kicker staat oud-Feyenoorder Ebi Smolarek voor een terugkeer naar Duitsland. De Poolse aanvaller, die jarenlang bij Borussia Dortmund onder contract stond, staat in de belangstelling van 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Zij mag direct met de 29-jarige Smolarek om tafel: de aanvaller speelde dit seizoen bij het Griekse Kavala, maar werd daar weggestuurd door de voorzitter. Zodoende zit hij momenteel zonder club.
