Feyenoord hoeft door het behalen van de vierde plaats pas in de play-off ronde van de voorronde van de Europa League in te stromen. Daarmee voorkomt Feyenoord een extra vroege start. De competitie begint dit seizoen sowieso al erg vroeg. De eerste speelronde staat voor 6, 7 en 8 augustus op het programma. De play-offronde voor de Europa League pas op 19 en 26 augustus. De loting is vrijdag 6 augustus.
