Geheel tegen zijn zin, stopt Roelof Luinge na dit seizoen als scheidsrechter in het betaalde voetbal. De arbiter – momenteel tweede in het Gouden Kaart-klassement, dat hij reeds twee keer won – kreeg vanmiddag van competitieleider Gijs de Jong te horen dat de onder curatele gestelde technische commissieleden Hans Reygwart, René Temmink en Rien Koopman de directie een negatief advies hadden gegeven.
Als pleister op de wond, mag Luinge de bekerfinale fluiten.
