PARIJS (ANP) - De Amerikaanse turnlegende Simone Biles heeft op de Olympische Spelen in Parijs goud veroverd op sprong. Ze kwam in de uitverkochte Bercy Arena uit op een puntentotaal van 15,300.
De Braziliaanse Rebeca Andrade werd tweede met 14,966 en de derde plek was voor de Amerikaanse Jade Carey: 14,466.
Voor Biles was het de zevende gouden plak ooit op de Olympische Spelen. Ze won in Parijs al de landenfinale en de meerkampfinale.
