Supermarktketen Lidl heeft alsnog erkend dat 27 bomen aan de Hofdijkstraat in Eindhoven illegaal zijn gekapt. De supermarkt stort ruim 90.000 euro in het bomencompensatiefonds van de gemeente en krijgt dat geld pas terug als er genoeg groen terugkomt bij herontwikkeling van het terrein.
