Toen Theo Weterings (66) solliciteerde naar het burgemeesterschap in zijn geboortestad, zocht de gemeente naar een Tilburgemeester. Iemand die de stad en de Tilburger snapt. Is hij als geboren en getogen TIlburger zo iemand geweest tijdens zijn achtjarige ambtsperiode? Theo Weterings: “In alle bescheidenheid, ik denk het wel.”
