Na meerdere mislukte pogingen is het HVV Helmond nu wél gelukt: topschutter Johan van Lierop stapt over van Bruheze en laat zijn club met een dubbel gevoel achter. Vorig jaar gaf zijn zoontje de doorslag, nu maakte hij de keuze zelf: „Ik wist wat hij zou kiezen, dus heb het hem maar niet gevraagd.”
