Eindhoven en innovatie gaan hand in hand. Al vele jaren geleden werd een sportieve koppeling gemaakt met de jaarlijkse marathon. Edgar de Veer was daar als directeur nauw bij betrokken. „Tikkende kledinghangers, speciaal vrouwenondergoed, warmtepillen en slimme inlegzolen, dat zijn uit de losse pols wat marathoninnovaties”, meldt hij aan de vooravond van het evenement.
