Opa stond er als jongeman achter de toog, daarna pa, en nu hij. Een café dat honderd jaar bestaat, ligt aan de rand van Tilburg-Noord. Dit stukje stad telde ooit zeven van zulke bruine cafés, nu is café Schalken eenzaam over. Maar nog altijd geliefd: „In de stad betaal je het dubbele voor een biertje.”
