Freek Heerkens blijft technisch directeur van Willem II, een functie die de clubicoon al op interim-basis vervulde. Hij wordt niet in z’n eentje voor de leeuwen gegooid: zijn ex-trainer Adrie Koster (70) wordt technisch adviseur en gaat fungeren als rechterhand van zijn oud-pupil. Aan de nieuwe technische structuur wordt bovendien Sam Strijbosch (30) toegevoegd.
