Bij FC Eindhoven zijn er revanchegevoelens in de aanloop naar het duel met Excelsior. In de competitie en beker kwam de ploeg nooit echt in de buurt van een resultaat en in deze derde ontmoeting willen ze niet als makke lammetjes naar de slachtbank geleid worden.
